Mary Anne was born in New York, NY to George Joseph Newman, Jr and Mary Elizabeth Lehman Newman. She dedicated her career to the US Government as an administrator for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She was an ardent crafter and collector of Depression Glass. Her great joy was travel and Mary Anne could spend hours recounting stories of her adventures in such places as Thailand, Russia, Morocco, Ireland, Italy, Iceland and beyond. But she always considered herself a true New Yorker and some of her fondest memories were of walks downtown with her beloved father.
Mary Anne is survived by her sister, Patricia Newman Baudo, her nephews Michael Baudo, Kevin Baudo and Tom Newman, her niece Lisa Newman Paratore and their families. Recently she had moved from her long-time home in Leesburg, VA to Rhode Island to be closer to family and was in the loving care of the staff of Atria Bay Spring in Barrington, RI. Her sharp sense of humor, fierce independence and bright smile distinguished her in her community of peers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Robert Newman.
