It is with the deepest of broken hearts that our family must grieve the passing of Tammy (Waldeck) Hodgeman on 4/11/2020 due to injuries from a tragic accident. Together nearly 40yrs, Tammy was deeply loved by Matthew Hodgeman as his wife of 30yrs. An inseparable couple through each decade, they were truly each other’s best friend and companion.
The oldest daughter of Dorothy & Richard Waldeck (late), Homosassa, FL (formerly of Coventry RI)
She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses:
Scott & Heather Waldeck, Homosassa FL.
Tracy (Waldeck) & Sean Bebjl, West Warwick
Wayne & Tracy Waldeck, Coventry
Terry (Waldeck) & Russell Reis, Exeter
Born in Coventry RI, Tammy was considered to have an “old soul” with a child’s “non-judgmental heart” by most people that knew her. Throughout her teen & adult years, Tammy endured multiple back operations, leaving her in a great deal of discomfort. However, even through all of her hurdles, she always maintained a positive outlook in life… never one to wallow in self pity.
Her favorite activities included; walking her cat “Oreo”, puzzle making, reading novels and watching movies with her husband. Her warmth and love was especially shared with her dozens of nieces and nephews, which Tammy could sit for hours and talk with, regardless of their age. After being employed for decades at Garland Pen in Coventry, Tammy and Matt relocated to New York where they lived for several years before returning home to Kent County.
Her endless supply of hugs along with her selfless ways will be greatly missed by her family. The fond and humorous memories of Tam’s essence will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the following GoFund Me page in her honor to help with present and future expenses for her husband, Matt.
